It has been a long time since I celebrated any blogging milestone. But this one is so huge that I’m not going to let it slide by.
WordPress just notified me that my all-time blog views have crossed the 100,000 mark. I received the notification on October 1, 2021.
However, I had noticed a day earlier that my blog’s viewership has surpassed the one hundred thousand thresholds.
To say that I’m excited about it is an understatement. So I’m here sharing the news with you not to brag but to show my gratitude for the achievement.
Yes, it’s an achievement but I’m not gloating about it. I’m just happy and grateful.
When I started the blog in 2015, some people tried to discourage me with their harsh criticisms. I had the choice to either quit the blogging mission or continue writing the blog against all odds. I’m so glad I chose the latter option.

Breaking down the statistics
It took me six years and 353 posts to attract 100,000 views to the blog. I know some people achieved that feat much earlier than I did. That’s good for them. As for me, I’m grateful for the journey so far.
The blog was started on the free WordPress plan and I continued writing it as a hobby all these years. (It’s still a hobby till this time).
But in mid-2020 during the covid-19 lockdown, I had to upgrade to the paid personal plan. And the numbers showing on my statistics clearly demonstrate that was when the blog traffic actually took off.
You can see the upward trend in traffic to the blog from the histogram below:

In 2020 when I published the 300th post, the total blog-hit then was 44,000 views. Now, just a little over a year later, with an additional 53 posts, the blog has reached 100,000 hits.
What that means is that the blog traffic has more than doubled within the last year. Is that not progress?
It’s appreciation time
Let me take a minute to appreciate everyone who helped me to achieve this milestone.
Everyone who sent me an email or other forms of feedback.
The progress made on this blog would not have been complete without your suggestions.
Everyone who viewed or read a post.
You are part of the numbers that showed that the blog is progressing.
Everyone who left a comment after reading.
Your thoughts and contributions to the discourse have been quite helpful.
Everyone that liked my post and showed it by clicking that like button.
Just know that you helped put a smile on my face.
Everyone who reblogged my post or shared it on social media.
You helped to spread my message.
Everyone whose writings inspired me.
Just know you are doing a great job.
Everyone whom I learnt one or two blogging tips from.
You contributed to making me a better blogger.
Everyone who encouraged me offline to keep blogging.
You are part of the reasons I have not quit on this blogging journey.
Everyone who criticised me harshly or said the blog didn’t stand a chance of surviving.
The stones you threw at me are now part of the building blocks of the blog.
In conclusion
I want to say a hundred thousand “thank yous” to all of you and to promise that I will continue to write as much as the Lord gives me strength.
And if you are a new blogger just starting out on your blogging journey, please don’t give up or abandon your blog. One day, you too will celebrate the 100,000 readership milestone. Until then, keep up the good work and expand your blogging capacity.
I will like to hear from you in the comment section.
Thank you Rochelle. Yes it is, but it took me a long time to get there. You do it even faster than I did.

Congratulations Victor! I’m always amazed at the things that we can learn from one another and your blog is no exception.
The articles you are currently posting on being kidnapped and held for ransom are an excellent example of a situation that not everyone runs into and I eagerly await the next instalment. In addition, your insights with regard to faith in Jesus, in an environment that differs from my own, causes me to reflect on things that I too often take for granted.
I thank you for your faithfulness and willingness to share, because we can all gain by listening and considering challenges that other brothers and sisters sometimes deal with. I’m really glad that our paths have crossed.
God’s continued grace, peace and blessings to you and yours!

Thank you Bruce for honouring me with your kind words. You have been one of my most faithful readers. I can’t thank you enough.
Yes, the kidnapping experience was nothing like I have ever experienced in the chequered history of my life. But I give glory to God that I came out of it alive, victoriously.
God was with me all the way, and I know it. He shielded me from being traumatized. And He has brought out beauty out of my ashes.
The part 4 of the story will soon be released. Apart from that, there will be other posts too that were inspired by the kidnapping experience. I know I can always count on you to read the posts as well. Thanks Bruce for all your support. Remain blessed.
